The Welsh Mountain Pony By Wynne Davies |
|
Contents1. Introduction |
Our reviewThis book traces the origin of the breed from earliest times to the present. It is profusely illustrated with black-and-white photos, many of them taken by Dr Davies. You can see many of the foundation stallions - such as Dyoll Starlight. (Many of the ponies mentioned in Tilly's pedigree are featured.) It is an excellent introduction. |

Welsh Ponies and CobsBy Wynne Davies |
Our reviewThis is the book for those who want to know more about the Welsh ponies and cobs. After a chapter on the early history of the Welsh breed, Dr Davies has organised the book by "families". For the ponies, there are 15 "families", starting with Dyoll Starlight, who was foaled in 1894. There are also 14 "cob" families, covering the modern sections C and D. For each family group, there is a wealth of information and many photos. With these pictures and text, Dr Davies brings to life the pedigree charts. This book is a classic and should grace the bookshelves of all Welsh pony breeders and serious enthusiasts. |

The Welsh CobBy Wynne Davies |
Our reviewA "must have" for Welsh cob enthuisiasts. It tells, as only Wynne Davies can, how these magnificent horses developed. With colour illustrations, it describes how the characteristics of the Welsh Cob made it useful in the past as a draught horse, and today as a sport horse. |
