Coed Coch Glyndwr was foaled in 1935 and has had an enormous impact on the breed. Although he himself did not do well in the show ring, his descendents did, especially his grandson Coed Coch Madog.

According to Wynne Davies, Glyndwr's father, Revolt, is described as "perfect in harness". His great grandfather, Prince of Cardiff, was registered in the Hackney Stud book.
