Our reviewThis is Prince Philip's third and latest book on carriage driving. At 83, he is still competing. Since 1986, he switched from driving horse teams to a team of Fell ponies. Using Fell ponies for competitive carriage driving was, he says, unheard of at the time. Nevertheless, he has had considerable success with these native ponies and in 2004 he won the pony fours league championship. This book describes his early experiences as well as his involvement with the establishment of driving trails as a sport. It contains many previously unpublished photographs and anecdotes. |
